The Solo Maker Stack
A weekly digest of the best solo maker tools — I keep track of the most exciting tools to help you build and grow your own products.
Contents
👾 F5Bot — Free service that emails you when your selected keywords are mentioned on Reddit, or Hacker News.
👾 Softr— No-code app builder (perfect to start your first product as a non-tech).
👾 Smartlead — Straight-forward cold emailing tool.
👾 Simplescraper — Extract data from any website.
👾 Ubersuggest — Free keyword research tool.
🤖 KoalaWriter—Create high-quality SEO-optimized articles in minutes.
👾 Interesting tools
Interesting tools are recommended or widely used by other makers. Here is my top pick this week.
F5Bot — Free service that emails you when your selected keywords are mentioned on Reddit, or Hacker News.
What we like: F5Bot is super helpful to see what people write about your competition, to quickly get in front of your users, or simply to know when someone is talking about your product. The service is completely free. There is no artificially low usage limit.
Softr— No-code app builder (perfect to start your first product as a non-tech).
What we like: If you want to build your first product, and you don't have technical skills, Softr is a great tool to get started with. Google Sheet or Airtable is your database, and from there you can drag and drop building blocks to create almost any interface (job boards, marketplaces, internal tools). As a non-tech, it gives you the right constraints to learn how to build. That's how I created WoodyJobs.com's MVP!
Smartlead — Straight-forward cold emailing tool.
What we like: Starting sales is scary. When I decided to start my first campaign, I was lost with all the tools out there: Apollo, Lemlist, Outreach etc. Apollo is great for creating your list of leads, but I’d recommend importing them into Smartlead and creating your campaign from there. It's efficient and straightforward to use. The real plus: product’ support is very responsive (I've asked them a LOT of questions, and they replied in minutes).
