👾 Useful tools

Interesting tools are recommended or widely used by other makers. Here is my top pick this week.

Spline Web-based 3D design app, for creatives!

What we like: A while back, I dabbled with digital 3D art using Cinema 4D, pretty heavy software until I discovered Spline. You can think of Figma, but for 3D design. It’s not the first tool you should use as a solo maker, but if you have a design-centric audience/customers, it can be great to product unique marketing assets. Oh, and they’re testing an AI feature, that will let you generate 3D visuals much, much faster. Worth keeping an eye on!

Vidyo.ai Generate short-form video from long one!

What we like: I love AI tools that help repurposing and distributing content, rather than creating. Personally, I’m often disappointed with AI results when it comes to videos and even visuals sometimes. However, if you can use your own assets, and play with it to make the distribution easier, I love! Vidyo helps do just that: get social ready clips, cut & captioned by AI.

Framer Easy-to-make and beautiful marketing sites.

What we like: We talk about Framer all around, but have you tried it yet? I’m building a personal site at the moment, and I understand the hype. Framer is much easier to use than Webflow, it has great templates for marketing sites, it’s SEO-friendly and you can ship very quickly. Speed is key if you’re solo! I wouldn’t use it for content sites, or web-apps, but it’s perfect for a marketing landing. It starts at $5/month up to $30/month according to your need.
